The injectable form of metamizole sodium is often used when a rapid onset of action is required or when a patient is unable to take medications orally. It is administered intramuscularly (into the muscle) or intravenously (into the vein) by a healthcare professional.

It’s important to note that the use of metamizole sodium has been associated with a rare but serious adverse effect known as agranulocytosis, which is a severe reduction in the number of white blood cells. Due to this potential risk, some countries have restricted or banned the use of metamizole sodium. As a result, the availability and use of metamizole sodium may vary depending on the region and local regulations.
